Sitting In the Sun

Reading up on aging dogs, one of the signs is when they spend more time sitting in the sun. I have noticed an uptick in this habit, but it may also be that winter is approaching and Zeke's getting in his licks before the sun goes around the corner.

The fading summer effects people as well. I noticed a drop in the number of residents in the condo complex pool and the water temperature falls into the 70s and the pool robot works overtime sucking up the early falling leaves.

On top of seasonal changes, it's been a rough week for our pup. A member of the pack was out of the den for 5 days and he was left alone more often than usual. Normally this only occurs once a week, and when we leave we give the boy a rawhide chew to keep him busy. After several unscheduled rawhide applications, poor Zeke had a tummy ache. I had a job to do this week and the weather wasn't too hot, so I took him with me to a camper dealership while I inspected a motor home for a customer. Of course the sales staff doted on the on him, which will make it even harder to leave him home in the future.

So as another season passing by, we continue on to the next, hoping that another summer is in the cards. But just in case, I think I'll go sit in the sun for a while. Coming Zeke?
